Archival Collections

The Poppenhusen Institute’s Archives is a rich collection of documents, photographs, artifacts, textiles, books, oral histories, and audiovisual materials related to the Institute and to local history. The collection includes organizational records of the Conrad Poppenhusen Association and the Poppenhusen Institute dating back to its founding in 1868, as well as records, photographs and artifacts documenting the people, families, businesses, churches, homes, schools, and community organizations of College Point. The collection also includes documents pertaining to neighboring Whitestone, since that community does not have its own historical organization.
